My review For Love in the Time of Global Warming:

I give this 2 stars. I love the idea of this book, but I felt that it was poorly executed. Love in the Time of Global Warming is supposed to be a spin-off of the Odyssey, but it’s a female who has the journey not a male. The female name is Penelope, Pen for a nickname, and she has lost everything: family, friends, and home. She has to journey through out the land and seas to find home, and along the way she has to defeat the mythical creatures. Will she be able to find home? Will she be able to defeat the mythical creatures? Will she die?

A to Z Reading Challenge: U to X

  U is for Unapologetic Fangirl For… I’m an unapologetic fangirl for cheesy romantic pick up lines. The lines make me excited on the inside. I just wish to be in the spot witnessing it in real life.

V is for Very Excited for This Release More Than All the Others. A book I’m really excited for is the final book to the Divergent series by Veronica Roth, which is called Allegiant. It comes out October 22, which is 2 weeks away!

W is for the Worst Bookish Habits. My worst bookish habit is to isolate myself for hours from everyone else just to read and finish a book. I might also have things to do, but I put them off anyway.

 X is for X Marks the Spot: Start at the top and go to the 27th book. The 27th book in my to read list is Abandon by Elana Johnson, which is the 3rd book to the Possession series.

Review: Walking Disaster (Beautiful Disaster #2) by Jamie MacGuire

This is basically the same book as Beautiful Disaster, but it is in a different character’s point of view. Beautiful Disaster is written in Abby’s point of view. Walking Disaster is in Travis Maddox’s point of view, which creates a different mind set and it makes the book different from the 1st one. It doesn’t matter if you read one or the other or even both.

I give Walking Disaster 4 stars, but I think it’s better than Beautiful Disaster by a little bit. So Travis has never been in love. His life is all about parties, drinking, and sex. He is known as the guy who will never be tamed and will run wild for his life. But when a girl named Abby Abernathy who he calls Pigeon, things start to change. She absolutely hates him, or at least acts like it. Her attitude makes him fight for her attention. She gives him a hard time about everything, but after a bet he wins she stays at his apartment for a whole month. A lot can happen in 1 month. Will she tame him? Will he end his wild ways? Will he be able to love someone for real and not one night stands?

My review on Partials:

I give Partials 4 stars. Partials is set on a futuristic New York City where the human population is dying quickly. There hasn’t been a baby that lived for more than 3 days for more than 10 years. It’s because of the RM virus released by the Partials. What are Partials? Partials are the robots that the humans made for war and protection, but the Partials have gone rogue, along with release a threatening virus. Kira is a 16 year old girl and she is training to become a nurse so she has to watch all these infants die, while researching on them when they are both alive and dead. She can’t stand it and wants to figure out a way to save the babies before it’s too late for herself. Why is that? Well, currently a female at the age 18 or over have to have children no matter what. There’s talk of lower the age and Kira doesn’t want to endure through watching her own future children die. She comes up with the theory that the Partials have the cure, but that means she has to go get a live one. Will she be allowed to get a Partial? Will she do it whether she has the permission or not? Will she find a cure? Will she be able to stay alive during all this pandemonium?

My Review for Candide:

I give Candide 4 stars. This book is a satire on optimism. Voltaire made this book really funny in a witty kind of way and the humor made the book more enjoyable and easier to finish. Voltaire uses historical events and fictional events that he uses to get his point across that optimism is basically ignorance to what is really happening in the real world. The main character is named Candide and he is in love with Cunegonde, the daughter of the nobleman’s house he is living in. Unfortunately, Candide gets thrown out of the manor or castle and forced to figure things out on his own. Will he be reunited with Pangloss, his mentor and good philosophical friend? Will he be able to find Cunegonde and live happily ever after with her? Will he start being more realistic and stop being so naive?

Q is for Quote that Inspires You. My quote that inspires me and I use all the time is:

This helps me motivated to do things, such as skydiving.

 R is for Reading Regret. A reading regret I have would be reading the Twilight series by Stephenie Meyer. The series was painful to read and to finish.

 S is for Series You Started and Need to Finish. A series I need to finish is The Goddess Test series by Aimee Carter. I read the first 2 books to the series, but I still have to read the final book.

T is for Three of Your All-Time Favorite Books. My ultimate favorite book is Divergent by Veronica Roth, which is based in a futuristic Chicago. My second favorite book is Awaken by Katie Kacvinsky, which is based in a futuristic Oregon. My third favorite book is The Selection by Kiera Cass, which is a futuristic USA.

     M is for Major Book Hangover Because Of… The last major book hangover I had was because of The Selection series by Kiera Cass. I finished the 2 currently published books in less than 3 days.

     N is for Number of Bookcases You Own. I own no bookcases currently, but I do put all my books in large boxes, which do the job for now. I have about 12 of the boxes filled with my own books.

     O is for One Book You’ve Read Multiple Times. A book that I’ve read multiple times was Divergent by Veronica Roth, which I will start reading again in about 3 weeks.

     P is for Preferred Reading Spot. My preferred reading spot is either my bed or a couch. I like to be able to sit up and have plenty of leg room so that it’s more comfortable to read.

     I for is Important Moment in Your Reading Life. An important moment in my reading life would be when I read Awaken by Katie Kacvinsky. The book, to me, is like a warning on what society might become if violence continues and increases.

     J is for Just Finished. I just finished reading The Odyssey by Homer for my English IV AP class. I loved it so much.

     K is for Kind of Book You Won’t Read. A kind of book I won’t read is vampire or supernatural crap like that. I read the Twilight series by Stephenie Meyer and it was torture!

     L is for the Longest Book You Have Ever Read. The longest book I’ve read was probably The Fellowship of the Ring by J.R.R. Tolkien, but I’m not completely sure.

 E is for E- Reader or Physical Book. I like both but for separate reasons. E-readers I use for books that I have to read for research or make notes on, while a physical books I read more for pleasure.

F is for Fictional Character You Would Most Likely Date in High School. That would be Divergent‘s Four/Tobias. He is so dreamy!

 G is Glad You Gave This Book a Chance. That would be Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi. The cover on my book didn’t look appealing, but the title was catchy. Shatter Me is about a teenage girl with the power to kill just by her touch.

H is for Hidden Gem Book. The Odyssey is my hidden gem because when I was a freshmen in high school I didn’t like The Odyssey, but after a 2nd time reading it in my senior year I loved it!

     A is for Author You’ve Read the Most Books From. That author is Sara Shepard and she wrote the Pretty Little Liars series, which will eventually consist of 16 books.

     B is for Best Sequel Ever. The best sequel I’ve ever read was The Hunger Games’ Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins because of all the action and obstacles that needed to be overcome.

     C is for Currently Reading. I’m currently reading 2 books. The Lucy Variations by Sara Zarr, which is based on music. Also, I’m reading Partials by Dan Wells, which is a dystopian society about the end of the world.

     D is for Drink of Choice While Reading. This an easy one. It’s coffee so that I can pull a late night trying to finish a book that is so good.
