My review for Looking for Alaska:
I give Looking for Alaska 3.5 stars. It isn’t the type of book that would read or interest me, but a friend of mine recommended it. I would also have to say it drags a little bit, but not too badly. I would recommend this to an adult or an older teen. It’s about a boy named Miles Halter who is going to be a freshman in college. He is ironically nicknamed Pudge, even though he’s super skinny, by a group of friends he meets. One of these friends of his is a girl named Alaska Young. Alaska seems to be in charge of the group of friends and encourages them to pull pranks, drink, and smoke. She’s known as the girl with the messed up childhood. Pudge is intrigued by her and wants to get to know her more. Will he be able to get close to her? But something tragic happens, and the group of friends try to figure out what really happened. So what did happen? How will they deal with it and will that be possible?
