My review for Cinder:
I give 3.5 stars. I have read many dystopian society books that some outshine others. This dystopian is written well and unique, but the style of story isn’t my cup of tea. I really like how Marissa Meyer used the classic story Cinderella and made the story her own. The story is a futuristic Beijing, China, called New Beijing and is about 126 years after World War IV. The main character’s name is Linh Cinder or simply Cinder, and she’s a 16 year old cyborg. What are cyborgs? Well they’re human, but have robotic parts. Cinder became a cyborg after an accident that killed her parents and really injured her. So she’s adopted by this man who dies before the book actually takes place. Her stepmother/guardian hates Cinder because she’s a cyborg. Cyborgs are hated in society, but Cinder has a gift as a mechanic probably because of being cyborg. There’s a plague going around called letumosis that was carried by Lunars, who are also hated and live on the moon. Cinder’s stepmother makes Cinder go to a lab to get tested because one of Cinder’s sister is sick with letumosis and a lab requests for cyborgs. Cinder isn’t getting sick like many others, which is another reason why she’s forced to go to the lab so that a cure could be found. Why isn’t she getting sick? Is it because she’s cyborg or something else? Prince Kai is also trying his best with what letumosis is doing with everyone. He also has to deal with the Lunar queen, Queen Levana, who wants to take over the world and will pounce on any opportunity. She also wants all Lunars on Earth to be killed. Why would she want her own kind dead? How will Prince Kai deal with this situation?
