My Review for The Rise of Nine:
I give The Rise of Nine 4 stars. The story picks up right where The Power of Six leaves off. Four and Sam split off from Six toward the end of the book to get Four’s chest that the Mogadorians took, while Six went out to Spain to go find Marina/Seven. Four and Sam got captured by the Mogadorians, but Four manages to get out and in the process helps another Loric child and didn’t know he was in there. He saved Number Nine and they both manage to escape the Mogadorians with their chests. Unfortuantely, Sam is still stuck in the Mogadorian cave and it’s too dangerous to go back in there just yet. Four also believes that he is the new Pittacus Lore, but Nine doesn’t believe him because it could be any Loric child. Will they get Sam out? Is Four or another Loric Pittacus Lore? While Four finds Nine, Six makes a surprising discovery while finding Seven. There is a 10th Loric child, and not 9. The 10th Loric child is slightly younger than the others, but her name is Elle and she has a power of age shifting. Elle was on the second ship that John dreamed about. So Six, Seven, Elle, and Elle’s Cepan go find another possible Loric child who is in the mountains pretending to be a culture’s God. Will they find him or her? Will all the Loric children find each other? Will they learn new abilities?
The Rise of Nine is in 3 points of view (instead of 2 POVs in The Power of Six and 1 POV in I am Number Four). All POVs are equally give their input. You get Four, Seven, and Six’s POVs in The Rise of Nine.
