This was the first book I finished this year. After I get caught up with the books I’ve read this year, I will post reviews on prequels so that you can read this review. I will probably have this series written out next week so there isn’t a long wait.
IF YOU HAVE NOT READ MATCHED OR CROSSED, DO NOT READ THE REVIEW SINCE IT WILL GIVE THINGS AWAY FROM BOTH MATCHED AND CROSSED.

My review for Reached:
I got Reached for Christmas and read it over break. I give Reached 4 stars. The setting of the book is a futuristic Society where the government controls and watches over everything and everybody (For more about the Society, you can go to the Matched review). Cassia and Indie had found Ky after both were sent to a camp and escaped (in Crossed). They tried to find both the Pilot and the Rising through many illegal poems, and together they found that the Rising is real and they become key figures in the rebellion. Cassia, Ky, and Xander become separated and sent to different parts of the Society in an important mission for the Pilot, but they still don’t know Cassia. Cassia is sent to Central city as a sorter, Ky and Indie are sent as pilots to outside the border, and Xander is a medic. Cassia has no way of getting information, but through illegal trade of the poems. What will she do if the trade gets cut off completely? As the story progresses there is a disease called the Plague that seems to be incurable, but some people aren’t getting sick. Will there be a cure and why are some not sick? Xander meets a official named Nea Lei and they comfort each other during the trying time. They talk about Xander’s match and how Nea Lea’s match, who she has no idea where he is. Who is Nea’s match? Xander, Cassia’s true match, has a secret so what is it? Cassia has no idea where and how her family is. Will she find out and save them from the Plague if she does find them? Cassia and Ky have been told and asked whether they were the Pilot, but they both have no idea. Who is the Pilot and how will he or she get rid of the Society? But most of all, will Cassia choose Xander (her best friend and match) or Ky (the fight she’s been trying to get that the Society is trying to prevent)? And will the person she doesn’t choose find happiness or dwell on the past?
Matched is only told by Cassie, while Crossed was told in Cassia and Ky’s point of view. Reached shows Cassia, Xander, and Ky’s points of view by “flip flopping” as you go from chapter to chapter. This is one of the reasons why I like this series, it’s because you get all sides of the story and not just one. Reached also breaks the book into 5 parts: Pilot, Poet, Physic, Plague, and Prisoner’s Dilemma.
