My review for The Red Badge of Courage:

I give this 3.5 stars because The Red Badge isn’t really my style of book, but it’s still good. The Red Badge is a fiction based on the American Civil War, and it’s a quick read. It’s extremely realistic considering Crane was never in the war. Henry Flemming, also referred to as the youth, enlists for the Union in the war but he doesn’t understand what he’s really getting himself into.  He doesn’t know how he’ll react when being in battle, but he’s not sure whether he would run away or continue fighting. So will Henry have the courage to fight or will he run away during the battle? If he does run away, how will he get himself from getting in trouble? But most of all, what is his red badge of courage?

I highly recommend this book to anyone who likes to read about wars or someone who is into history.
